P.W.S.A. Land Acknowledgement
The Provincial Women’s Softball Association wishes to acknowledge and recognize the Traditional Indigenous Territories that we, and our teams, have the privilege to gather and play on!
HEAD OFFICE
P.W.S.A.’s head office is situated on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee and the Mississaugas of the Credit River. This territory is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Treaty, an agreement between the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Mississaugas of the Credit River that bound them to share and protect the land. Subsequent Indigenous Nations and peoples, Europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect.
Today, Ontario is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.
By learning, understanding and acknowledging, we wish to pay respect to Turtle Island, Mother Earth and to Ontario’s rich Indigenous history.
P.W.S.A. strives to embody and extend these values through the power of community; to welcome all who seek to protect the land, support each other and build diverse collaborations on the softball diamond and beyond. We are grateful for and continue to learn from and build relationships with Indigenous peoples.
