Softball Ontario is the provincial sports organization governing the sport of Softball. Softball Ontario’s goal is to promote and develop the sport of softball for its Athletes, Coaches, Officials, and Volunteers by providing programs and services at all levels of competition.

Softball Ontario is located in North York, Ontario.

The Umpire Program Coordinator position is ideal for a person who has a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a sports administrative environment or related field of study. We are looking for a proactively engaged self-starter with the ability to thrive in an office environment, an enthusiastic team member with a positive collaborative approach. This full-time position is a critical role within our organization working with the largest stakeholder group. The role will provide an excellent opportunity to influence the success of the organization.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

· Administer the Umpire Clinic program – including processing bids, shipping clinic material & tracking clinic revenue & expenses
· Administer the Umpire Tournament services program – including coordinating the logistics (including booking travel & accommodations) for umpire travel to provincial and national tournaments
· Manage/oversee the annual Umpire Registration process – including data entry, processing payments & shipping out registration packages
· Liaise with committees supporting annual Umpire awards banquet
· Prepare and post all Umpire program communications through Softball Ontario social media channels
· Support the two Umpire Committees, by coordinating the logistics for committee meetings, attending meetings, writing committee minutes, and preparing meeting packages
· Liaison with Softball Ontario’s FP and SP Provincial Umpire-in-Chiefs, their Deputies, Zone Umpire-in-Chiefs, as well as Softball Ontario’s Member Associations and the Board of Directors

Qualifications:

University Degree or College Diploma in Sports Administration or related field with relative experiences
Softball Ontario

Skills:

· Commitment to delivering high standards of customer service
· Ability to coordinate programs to ensure proper administration, organization and delivery
· Experience working with a variety of stakeholders
· Strong written and verbal communication; telephone, email an in-person
· Exceptional work ethic, enjoy working in a team environment with the ability to work independently
· Communications and marketing background is an asset
· Ability to manage budgets
· Good knowledge of QuickBooks
· Advanced computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, in addition to traditional business hours
· An understanding of the game of softball is considered an asset
· Must have driver’s license and car

Compensation: Softball Ontario offers a competitive salary compensation with benefits. The salary range for this role is $35,000-$39,000.
