Bette Kalailieff PWSA Scholarship
This scholarship is given to current PWSA players who are pursuing post-secondary education in Canada. The award winners must attain high scholastic achievements, show leadership traits and skills in the sport of softball and within their community, school teams, and, in general, help people in their everyday lives. Each year we attempt to provide three scholarships of approximately $1,000 each. In 2016, we are fortunate to be able to offer $3,000 to each.
This year we had 11 applicants. The applicant is marked on grade point average, softball achievements, academic achievements, as well as volunteer and community involvement. All the ladies who applied were of high caliber and it was extremely difficult to choose just three recipients.
2016 recipients are:
We greatly appreciate all those who have contributed to the Bette Kalailieff Scholarship Foundation this past year, including PWSA member teams and associations; business and private donations; in-memoriam; and the Residence and Conference Centres.
The PWSA Scholarship Foundation is an important part of our Association. Scholarships are normally based on the amount of interest we receive each year from the funds we have in the scholarship account. Each year, we attempt to provide three scholarships of approximately $1,000.00 each to deserving players who submit applications before August 15th of the current year. In 2016, we were fortunate to increase this amount to $3,000 each.
We greatly appreciate all those who have contributed to the PWSA Scholarship Fund this past year, including PWSA member teams and associations; business and private donations; in-memoriam; and the Residence and Conference Centre. We cannot thank you enough for your continued interest and support toward helping us with this worthwhile program to assist PWSA athletes with their education. THANK YOU!
Congratulations to the 2015 Scholarship Winners
